Painting the Landscape in Oils
  • Painting Atmosphere in the Landscape - Workshop
This workshop will be conducted online as a Zoom meeting!  Join Waid online as he works from his home studio where he will demonstrate and lecture for one hour and look at students' work offering guidance and critique for the remaining time.  Waid will also be in contact with students via email.  Students will be guided through the thought process required to paint the invisible--air!  Yes, air or atmosphere envelopes all subjects in the landscape.  It is a good idea to remind ourselves of the essential role that atmosphere plays in painting, and to understand how to mix color in order to capture a sense of reality.  The information presented in this condensed course will be focused on capturing this prime element of landscape painting while incorporating composition, depth of field, and balance.  Please sign up early; class size is limited.
